SOROR GLADYS BROWN DUTRIEUILLE, ESQ. APPOINTED THIRD TERM
CHAIR, PA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION

Epsilon Sigma Omega Chapter Parliamentarian, Soror Gladys Brown Dutrieuille, esq., has garnered a third consecutive term as Chairman of Pennsylvania’s Public Utilities Commission with a unanimous confirmation by State Senate.

In an official letter, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf – who originally appointed Brown Dutrieuille as chair in 2015 – noted, “please accept my best wishes for your continued success as chair.” Adding, “I appreciate your commitment to public service to the Commonwealth and the Commission.”

Prior to assuming the chairmanship, Soror Brown Dutrieuille provided more than 22 years as an aide and counsel in the Pennsylvania Senate.
She earned bachelor’s and juris doctorate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and promises to continue her commitment to consumer education and awareness.

A member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Dauphin County Bar Association, the James S. Bowman Inns of Court, the Keystone Bar Association and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank Board of Directors, she also is an active member at Bethel A.M.E. Church – Harrisburg, and the American Association of Blacks in Energy in the Harrisburg area. (04/2019)

 

SOROR GLADYS BROWN RECEIVES
HONORABE CLARENCE C. MORRISON EQUAL PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITY AWARD

SoorGladys Brown, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, received the 2019 Honorable Clarence C. Morrison Equal Professional Opportunity Award from the Dauphin County Bar Association.
Judge Clarence C. Morrison was the first African American elected to the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas. He served as President Judge from 1993 until retiring in February 2000. He continued to serve as a Senior Judge until 2005.

 

 

SOROR ANNA C. ELSTON, M.S., PROMOTED TO NEW POSITION WITH DEPARTMENT OF NAVY

 

We join in the celebration of the continued professional success of our Soror Anna C. Elston, M.S., who recently earned the IT SPECIALIST designation(SYSADMIN LEAD) for the Department of Navy: Naval Supply Systems Command.

In addition to excelling in the workplace, Soror Anna uses her skills in Service to All Mankind. She has served as the Chapter’s Technology Chairman (2016 – 2017), was a member of the North Atlantic Region Conference (NARC) Technology Team (2016 – 2017), and was the 2016 Cluster II Conference Technology Chairman. SOROR JEANNINE D. PETERSON, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, HAMILTON HEALTH CENTER,
HONORED WITH DISTINGUISHED AWARD

A highly regarded leader in the regional healthcare community and beyond, Soror Jeanine is the 2018 recipient of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce & CREDC Business Diversity Champion Catalyst Award.

Soror Jeanine and the staff at Hamilton Health Center work to meet the needs of more than 30,000 area residents; providing mental, dental, social and behavior services to a multi-cultural customer base with diverse income levels.

Under Soror Jeanine’s leadership, Hamilton Health Center earned the coveted certification of the Joint Commission, signifying the highest level of quality care. (12/2018)

GOLDEN SOROR HETTIE S. LOVE CELEBRATES 96TH BIRTHDAY

 

Soror Hettie is believed to be the first African-American female graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business where she earned a Master of Business Administration.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Soror Hettie also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Fisk University where she joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Pi Chapter) in 1941.

She became a member of Epsilon Sigma Omega Chapter in 1972 and is an active and engaged member and a community cornerstone.

Here, Madam North Atlantic Regional Director Mary Bentley LaMar – leading with a High Note and a chorus of +300 – sign a rousing rousing Happy Birthday. Soror Hettie’s daughter, Soror Karen Love, joined in the celebration. She also is a member of Epsilon Sigma Omega Chapter.

 

 

DR. MOMON NELSON ASSUMES CHAIR POSTION AT UPMC PINNACLE, CARLISLE PA

 

 

Soror Dr. Chavone Momon Nelson, who provides OB/GYN services to women at all stages of life, recently was promoted to Chair the OB/GYN Department at UPMC Pinnacle, Carlisle.
